not sure how much i'll be on here; i'm busy and elsewhere. but dreamwidth seems like a good place to find community -- and even if i'm only mirroring posts from there here, well, i write to be read, so.
i came here from cohost. before that, from a lot of places. not livejournal, though, so it'll be interesting to see how i vibe with something allegedly similar to that.
anyway. as mentioned, this will mostly be a mirror of my blog, so here's a mirror of the first post.
as i write this, most of the people reading it know me already from cohost. (with luck, this blog will persist a little longer.) you've no doubt read my exit plans, but a brief summary:
so then what are my plans to enter the blogosphere? with what posts will this land be filled?
short answer: i'm not sure.
longer answer: i won't make any promises, but you can expect rechosts (for my especially worthwhile chosts), irregular devlogs (when i have projects i think are worth sharing), musings on tech and foss (which occupy most of my time) and governance (which occupies little, but still lives rent-free in my mind). you may also see roundups of other posts i've seen and enjoyed, from people i follow.
myself, i intend to not be particularly present. my self will no doubt be reflected, in my interests and opinions and blindspots, but i won't be discussing my life or my happenings. i think i prefer it that way. at least for now.
i won't promise a schedule. this is a hobby, not a job, and even if it does come to pay the bills – a nightmare of mine – it will exist to fill one of the niches that cohost did, offering me a space to express myself with no limits beyond those imposed by my conscience.
that said, between roundups and rechosts, i expect there'll be something at least weekly for the next little while.
i think it'll be fun. i hope you agree.

- here, now.
- perhaps the website league, soon
- dreamwidth, eventually [ed. lol]
- who knows. maybe tumblr.
